Director Rohit Shetty has announced his next action film Sooryavanshi, in which actor Akshay Kumar will play the titular cop character. It was rumoured that Katrina Kaif could be paired opposite him in the action drama. However, the Zero (2018) actress has said she hasn't signed any film and is only concentrating on Bharat (2019).

“No, no, I have not signed any film after Bharat. I am only reading and listening to scripts. Right now my focus is only on Bharat. Bharat is quite a strong role and I am enjoying the whole process, from the prep work to shooting the major portion. The film pans across a few years. I am learning a lot. I am quite excited and having a fulfilling experience on sets,” Kaif told Firstpost.com.

While she hasn't signed a new project, Kaif had initially agreed to star in Remo D’Souza’s dance film, which has Varun Dhawan in the lead role. She had to opt out due to date issues.

“I believe that everything comes to you what is meant to come and everything happens for the right reasons [sic],” she said. “It wasn’t possible for me to do the film because of the time constraints which they had. Also, Bharat needs an Eid release which is in June and that is very critical for the film. Unfortunately, we couldn’t fit in the time for that one,” she added.

Bharat is scheduled to be released on Eid this year. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bharat is based on the Korean film An Ode To My Father (2014). Salman Khan plays the titular character. Tabu, Disha Patani and Jackie Shroff will make up the rest of the supporting cast.
