After Hrudayantar, Vikram Phadnis’s next is about Alzheimer’s and dementia

The Marathi film, which is untitled as of now, will go on the floors next month.

After Hrudayantar (2017), designer-turned-filmmaker Vikram Phadnis is all set to helm his second Marathi movie. The film, which is untitled as of now, will be about Alzheimer’s and dementia and will go on the floors next month.

Speaking to IANS in a telephonic conversation, Phadnis said, “I am starting my next film on 20 February. I am excited. It will be a Marathi film that is subtitled in English. The story that I want to tell the world is about Alzheimer’s and dementia. It’s a story, which I have written. [It is] close to my heart,” he said.

Phadnis added that the film doesn’t fall under any category. “I don’t know whether I can figure it as a commercial, art, massy or classy film. I don’t know those terms. I am hoping that I will be able to create the magic that people expect out of me,” he said.

Incidentally, Hrudayantar also revolved around a disease. The film was about a child suffering from blood cancer. It featured Subodh Bhave and Mukta Barve in the lead roles as parents of the child. It was an emotional journey of the parents who knew their beloved child wouldn't live long.

Hrudayantar had a cameo by Hrithik Roshan, who played himself in the film. He arrives to see the ill child as seeing her favourite star is one of her last wishes.
