National Award-winning filmmaker Atanu Ghosh has announced a new project Binisutoye, starring Ritwick Chakraborty and Jaya Ahsan.

In the film, Chakraborty plays Kajal Sarkar and Ahsan essays the character of Srabani Barua, who meet at a reality show. Kajal saves Srabani when she almost falls while boarding a bus and a fondness develops.

The film delves into their characters and explores whether they are actually the persons they appear to be.

"These days, it is getting increasingly difficult to understand people," the director said in an interview with the Eisamay television channel. "There is no synch between how one leads one’s life and how one actually is as a living soul. Some are completely unaware of the truths of their own self while others carefully hide those in front of outsiders. I am not sure which is right or wrong, but I felt I should talk about these kind of people on the big screen.”

The director also said he considers Chakraborty and Ahsan to be two of the more sensitive and talented artistes of this generation and wished for a long time to work with them.

The film will go on the floors soon with shooting schedules in Kolkata and Taki. The film will be shot by Hari Narayan and edited by Sujay Datta Ray. Debajyoti Mishra will compose the music.
