The trailer of Ranjan Ghosh’s upcoming film Ahaa Re was launched yesterday. The compact trailer with a soothing background score brings out the soul inherent in the film that sketches the journey of a love story that transcends religious differences and geo-political borders.

Food plays an important role in this journey. Discovering flavours becomes synonymous with the growth of emotions. Ahaa Re’s trailer begins with experiments with ingredients and cuisines and gradually shifts towards the unravelling of emotions of the protagonists played by Rituparna Sengupta and Arifin Shuvoo.

Shuvoo plays Faraz Choudhury, a top chef of Bangladesh. He is engaged to a girl played by Amrita Chowdhury. Due to some unknown reasons, he is forced to travel to India, where the food of a simple home delivery service surprises him. An intrigued Faraz finds out the talented home cook Basundhara Ganguly (Rituparna Sengupta) and expresses his wish to learn her simple dishes.

Their journey doesn’t remain confined to food anymore, yet the way to each other’s hearts is not simple either. The trailer holds a lot for the audience to expect with Basundhara’s dialogues and the ending scene in which she doesn’t happily accept the rose given by Faraz. However, in the beginning, Paran Bandopadhyay’s commentary suggests that the film is about two star-crossed lovers’ union.

The trailer hints that Ghosh’s way of storytelling will be engaging and the film will offer certain moments accompanied by Binit Ranjan Maitra’s background score to ponder upon deeply.

Sengupta seems totally in the zone of her character, who is more than a mere cook with deep thoughts and understanding on human emotions, while Shuvoo appears confident in his avatar as a reputed chef with a curiosity for the more earthy things in life.

Ahaa Re is slated for release on 22 February.
