The documentary short, Period. End Of Sentence, which has Guneet Monga as executive producer, has been nominated for Best Documentary Short Subject at the 91st Academy Awards today, 22 January.
The film is one of five nominees for the gold man and will compete against other documentaries Black Sheep, End Game, A Night At The Garden and Lifeboat.

Monga's Sikhya Entertainment is co-producing the short, directed by Rayka Zehtabchi. The 26-minute film looks the village of Hapur in northern India where a machine which makes sanitary pads is introduced. The young girls and women are educated about feminine hygiene and the taboo of menstruation is addressed with both men and women.

The final awards will be handed out at a global ceremony on 24 January 2019.
