Taking on the twin roles of directing and acting for his upcoming film, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, has not stopped R Madhavan from going full throttle on his transformation. The actor shared his look as the former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist, Nambi Narayanan, on his Instagram page. With his full white beard and hair, the actor looks more like a twin of the scientist.

The actor will be making his directorial debut with the film, after co-director Anant Mahadevan dropped out of the project citing 'unavoidable issues'. The film focuses on the fight of Nambi Narayanan to reclaim his name after he was accused of 'espionage' in 1994. The scientist spent close to 50 days in jail, following which he fought a legal case to prove his innocence.

While Madhavan has previously undergone a transformation to play the rugged boxing coach in Saala Khadoos (2016), this film requires him to play an older man. The actor had earlier posted a short video of himself in make-up as he sat down for a gruelling 14-hour session to transform into the scientist.

The transformation seems to have worked, with the actor looking like a twin of the scientist. With white hair and beard, the actor seems to have captured the look of the scientist. However, the film's subject will require Madhavan to delve into more than just the look.

The film is a trilingual, in Hindi, English and Tamil.
