Tota Roy Chowdhury and Swastika Mukherjee in Arjunn Dutta's upcoming film

Mukherjee plays Sri, a typical Bengali housewife, while Roy Chowdhury plays her supportive husband.

Director Arjunn Dutta has announced that his upcoming untitled film will feature Swastika Mukherjee and Tota Roy Chowdhury in the lead. Dutta’s debut directorial Abyakto (2019) won hearts at several film festivals and is slated for release in this summer.

Roy Chowdhury, who recently appeared in Pradeep Sarkar’s Helicopter Eela (2018), will be seen in this Bengali film after three years since Benche Thakar Gaan - The Song (2016). “It is going to be an exciting journey. I was absolutely impressed with the way Arjun narrated the script. After all these years, it is important for me to see the conviction of the maker, more than anything else,” said the actor.

Mukherjee plays Sri, a typical Bengali housewife, who is all over the place and careless. Her attractive husband eventually ignites insecurities in her and she decides to groom herself. Her dance guru played by Sudarshan Chakraborty, begins to train her, leading her on a different path.

“My character is of a supportive husband. Usually, people complain about their wives. But my character accepts Sri the way she is. There’s a twist in the story after which Sri goes for a makeover,” elaborated Chowdhury in an interview with The Times of India.

Bangladeshi actress Onir will also play an important role in the film. Dutta is currently shooting for the film.
