While the industry continues to be obsessed with scoring big box-office hits early in the new year, Rajshri Productions is moving ahead smoothly with the planned release of its next film, Hum Chaar, featuring four newcomers.
The latest song from the film, 'Tum Aisi Kyun Ho', taps into the theme of lost friendship that the film focuses on.
The song's visuals build up the story of four friends (Prit Kamani, Simran Sharma, Anshuman Malhotra and Tushar Pandey) reuniting after a decade of leaving school.
The reunion, however, does not go well, as Simran Sharma's character Manjari appears to hold on to some resentment. Cue the cajoling song to a friend by the three boys in the group.
Melodious but staid, the composition by team SARA is built on the familiar rhythms of the acoustic guitar backed by percussion. The vocals by Sameer Khan are a nice addition and flow well with the composition.
The very pop-rock style of the composition fits in with the film's young theme. Yet, it is Khan's vocals that truly take precedence over the composition. Uncomplicated and melodious, Khan adds to the song with his performance, though using one singer for all three characters does seem a little strange.
Hum Chaar has been directed by Abhishek Dixit and is set for release in theatres on 15 February.
