There were several reports about Kamal Jain being in the ICU and being put on a ventilator.

Kamal Jain, producer of the Kangana Ranaut-led Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, was hospitalized in Mumbai on Saturday.

A report on the website Spotboye.com claimed that Jain had suffered a paralytic stroke and was in critical condition. The report also quoted a doctor saying the producer was in the ICU and had been put on a ventilator.

However, the film’s publicist has denied the report. “He was taken to hospital for throat and lung infection," the publicist told Cinestaan.com. "There they realized there was some neuro issue that is causing complications, which was an earlier ailment. He had partial facial paralysis. He is out of danger and recovering. He was in the ICU only for some time.”

Cinestaan.com tried contacting the hospital but in vain. An official statement released later by Kangana Ranaut said Jain was not in any serious danger.

“He is doing fine," the star said in her statement. "The reports are misleading. He fell sick last week and is on his way to recovery. I am in touch with him every day. Request everyone to please stop backing sensational reports.”

Vijayendra Prasad, writer of the film, also said Jain had not suffered a paralytic stroke. “He is in hospital, but it’s not a stroke as reported," the writer of the Baahubali films said. "Kamal got food into his lung while eating. He was operated upon and is out of danger.”

Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi is a biopic on the life of freedom fighter rani Laxmibai. The film is scheduled for release on 25 January.
