Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt begin new year with new posters for Gully Boy

With the new year, actors Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt have kicked off the promotions for the upcoming Gully Boy. The stars of Zoya Akhtar's film shared new posters that shed light on the characters and styles that will define the movie. The film is expected to be released on 14 February this year. 

The posters are fairly simple in style, but are placed against the background of the crowded urban sights of Mumbai that might be familiar to the daily commuter. The film features Singh as an up and coming rapper from the slums of Mumbai. While it is not known if Bhatt plays a similar role, she is definitely someone with whom Singh's character shares a close bond. 

All the posters carry the tagline 'Apna Time Aayega' (Our time will come), which seems appropriate for a film about the underdog. The film is a musical inspired by the lives of rappers Divine and Naezy, among others. 

The film will also premiere at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival between 7-17 February, in the Special Gala Section. 

Akhtar's film also features Kalki Koechlin, Vijay Verma, Vijay Raaz, and Amruta Subhash.
