Sarva Line Vyasta Aahet trailer: Saurabh Gokhale, Siddharth Jadhav star in this misogynistic saga

Setting a film in an olden era is different than making a film that tries to be modern but ends up resembling an era long gone by. Director Pradip Raghunath Mestry’s Sarva Line Vyasta Aahet is a masala entertainer that appears stuck in the 1990s. This is clear from the trailer of the film which is just released. 

The film is about the 31-year-old single nerd Sameer [Saurabh Gokhale]. His parents are eager to see him married. They take him to a spiritual guru [Mahesh Manjrekar], who predicts that Sameer's will be a love marriage. But this seems far from possible for the shy, nerdy Sameer. 

So, his friend [Siddharth Jadhav] becomes his love guru and starts training him. He gives Sameer a complete makeover. Soon enough, a number of girls start entering his life. With whom will Sameer finally settle? 

The trailer advocates the misogynistic belief that girls should only look pretty and a man or boy has every right to ‘eye’ her. If she looks ugly by the society’s standards, like the sweeper woman shown in the trailer, it is alright to laugh at her. The film or at least the trailer portrays women as objects of desire. The scenes where Jadhav urges Gokhale to ‘use’ a girl is cheap. 

Gokhale appears suited to the role and looks a different person after the makeover. He was impressive as one of the villains in the recent Hindi hit, Simmba (2019). Jadhav was also a part of that film. 

Sarva Line Vyasta Aahet is all set to release on 1 February.
