Actress Bhumi Pednekar has a busy 2019 lined up as she will shoot for the multi-starrer Takht (2020) directed by Karan Johar and a possible horror comedy with Vicky Kaushal for Dharma Productions. But before that she has wrapped up filming on her second feature for the year, Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, directed by Alankrita Shrivastava.
Pednekar is the co-lead along with actress Konkona Sensharma who plays Dolly. The actress, who is working Shrivastava for the first time, shared a passionate post on social note about how much fun she enjoyed playing the character.
She wrote on Instagram about her character, “She is a crazy dreamer full of love and hope. She is weird..very weird, her faith in love and her ambition to do better is infectious. She is a character I’ve had such fun playing. No inhibitions and Fears. I will miss you kitty.”
Pednekar thanked the women around her — writer-director Shrivastava for making her more confident as a person because of the character of Kitty, her co-star Sensharma for all the love and craziness, and producers Ekta Kapoor and Ruchikaa Kapoor for the bringing them all together.
She said she “just can’t detach myself from this one”.
The cast and crew joyfully celebrated the filming wrap-up with cake. In the film, Sensharma and Pednekar play rebels to society, much like Shrivastava’s previous film, Lipstick Under My Burkha (2017).
Pednekar will next be seen in Abhishek Chaubey’s dacoit drama Sonchiriya (2019) with Manoj Bajpayee and Sushant Singh Rajput on 8 February.
