Raashi Khanna, who has so far predominantly worked in the Telugu film industry apart from a few Hindi films, made her Tamil debut last year with Nayanthara’s Imaikka Nodigal. Even before the release of her maiden Tamil film, she went on to sign nearly half a dozen more projects in the language. Last seen in Tamil crime thriller Adanga Maru (2018), it is rumoured that she might have signed her next project, Manaadu, starring Simbu aka STR in the lead. The project, expected to go on the floors very soon, marks the maiden collaboration of director Venkat Prabhu and Simbu.
While Venkat Prabhu hasn’t reacted to the rumour yet, he has however been quoted by Deccan Chronicle that he will reveal the complete cast and crew list after the festival of Pongal.
In an earlier interview, Prabhu revealed that Manaadu is a long pending project. “We have been talking about a possible collaboration for a long time now, but suddenly STR called me one day. I narrated his character along with the outline of the script. STR liked the idea and gave a nod. The movie will come as a different experience for STR. His fans will find his character in the film exciting.”
Manaadu is also tipped to be a political film and it will feature Simbu in an action avatar.
Apparently, Simbu will undergo a crash course in martial arts before commencing work on this project, which will be produced by Suresh Kamatchi. If the grapevine is anything to go by, shoot of the project is expected to start from 3 February which happens to be Simbu’s birthday.
