Suriya’s long delayed Tamil political thriller NGK, which marks his first collaboration with filmmaker K Selvaraghavan, has finally completed its shoot after being on the floors for a really long time.

When NGK was first announced, it was supposed to hit the screens during Diwali 2018 along with Vijay’s Sarkar. However, the film had to miss Diwali release after Selvaraghavan fell ill and underwent a minor surgery and due to which the shoot was stalled for a couple of weeks. The shoot was further delayed as Suriya went on to complete shooting major portion of Kaappaan, being directed by KV Anand.

Amidst several rumours that the project might get dropped midway, the team managed to complete the project successfully.

On Saturday, Selvaraghavan took to Twitter to announce that the shoot of NGK had been finally wrapped up. “It has been a fantastic journey filming with the one and only Suriya sir. Truly amazed by his wonderful talent and dedication. We, team NGK, take this moment to thank him from the bottom of our hearts,” he tweeted.

In reply, Suriya thanked Selvaraghavan for giving him a new high, behind and in front of the camera.

The film, which was officially launched in February 2018, also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Sai Pallavi as the leading ladies.

Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, the film has been made on a lavish budget and has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. If everything goes as planned, Suriya might have two releases this year as NGK has been confirmed to hit the screens this summer. Meanwhile, Suriya will soon commence work on his next yet-untitled project with Saala Khadoos director Sudha Kongara.
