Fraud Saiyaan title track: Apt introduction to Arshad Warsi's colourful character

What makes the track enjoyable is the pacey, entertaining pop score with a desi twist by Sohail Sen and the fun lyrics by Kumaar.

A philandering character in the #MeToo era is not exactly kosher, but then there is freedom of expression. It is another story that director Sourabh Shrivastava does not want any credit for the film now. Produced by Prakash Jha, the film's makers have released the title track.

The teaser and the trailer were nothing great, but the title track is likeable, for it is a fitting introduction to Bhola Prasad (Arshad Warsi). In the context of the film and the character, lyricist Kumaar has penned an apt song. Bhola Prasad is not just a womanizer but also a con artist who dupes brides-to-be and decamps with their valuables.

The film’s plot is one that we have seen before many times, including in recent films like Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011) and Kiss Kisko Pyaar Karoon (2015). It is also relatable with the Sonam Kapoor starrer Dolly Ki Doli (2015), where Kapoor played the con bride.

What makes the track enjoyable is the pacey, entertaining pop score with a desi twist by Sohail Sen. The track never loses its pacey rhythm, keeping you hooked. Singer Shadab Faridi revels in the fun lyrics and peppy score. Bhola Prasad is an unabashed character and that is reflected in Faridi's tone.

The visuals of the series of women duped, Bhola Prasad often escaping by the skin of his teeth, only underline how difficult it is to pin the con man down. Warsi even uses a fogger to ward off his pursuers.

All in all, the Fraud Saiyaan track in enjoyable in the context of the film and the character. Watch the track below.

Fraud Saiyaan is set to be released on 18 January. Let us know if you plan to watch this film in the theatres.
