Hrithik Roshan's Super 30 avoids competition, set for release on 26 July

Hrithik Roshan made the announcement on Twitter. As things stand, the Reliance Entertainment film will get a solo release on that date.

Initially meant to be released in 2018, Super 30 was pushed to the Republic Day weekend this year with fans salivating at the prospect of a clash at the box office between Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut, who have no love lost between them.

But while Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi is being released on 25 January as scheduled, Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30 was delayed. The film is now set to be released on 26 July.

Lead actor Hrithik Roshan made the announcement on Twitter: “Happy to announce that #Super30 is headed for release on July 26, 2019,” he tweeted.

As things stand, Super 30 is likely to get a clear run at the box office for a week with no other big release scheduled for that day.

Preview 2019: Here is what you can expect from Hindi cinema in the new year

Directed by Vikas Bahl, Super 30 has reportedly been inspired by the life of Bihar mathematician Anand Kumar.

The film got mired in controversy late last year after director Vikas Bahl was accused of sexually harassing a former colleague at the now defunct Phantom Films.

Following the serious allegations against Bahl, Hrithik Roshan called upon the producers, Reliance Entertainment and Sajid Nadiadwala, to investigate the matter and take appropriate action.

Just before this controversy erupted, the credibility of Anand Kumar, too, was called into question, following which the producers said all references to him had been removed.

Interestingly, in his tweet, Hrithik Roshan did not mention either Vikas Bahl or Anand Kumar.

There has been no word yet from the cast, crew or producers whether Vikas Bahl’s directorial credit would be removed. Sources had earlier told Cinestaan.com that the film was still in the final stages of post-production and hence could not be released on the Republic Day weekend.

Apart from Hrithik Roshan, the film stars Mrunal Thakur, Nandish Sandhu and Pankaj Tripathi.
