Actors Aparshakti Khurana and Divyendu Sharma, two actors known for their comic timing, are set to come together for a Yoodlee Films' production titled Kanpuriye.
The film will be helmed by T for Taj (2018) writer Ashish Aryan. The duo will be joined by Vijay Raaz, Harshita Gaur, Rajshri Deshpande and Harsh Mayar in the supporting cast.
Kanpuriye is said to be a coming-of-age film of three different men from Kanpur.
Speaking from Sikkim, Sharma told Cinestaan.com, "I don't know if I'm supposed to talk about it now, but it's better that Yoodlee Films makes the announcement. The shoot is expected to begin by the end of February. I am still trying to figure out my dates."
Cinestaan.com later learned that the film has already gone on the floors. Divyenndu Sharma is set to join the rest of the cast who have already begun shooting.
While Aryan makes his feature film debut, it is a maiden film together for Khurana and Sharma. Both actors have played characters from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand before. Sharma acted in Batti Gul Meter Chalu (2018) which was set in Uttarakhand, while Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was based in UP.
Khurana is adept at playing characters from the Hindi heartland. He played a north Indian in films like Dangal (2016), Stree (2018), and the upcoming Luka Chuppi (2019).
