Farhan Akhtar's Bhaag Milkha Bhaag won many awards and accolades and went on to become the biggest hit of the filmmaker-actor-singer's career.
If things had worked out for Vicky Kaushal, he would have made his debut with this Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra hit in 2013.
In a recent interview with Filmfare magazine, Kaushal, the audience's current favourite, revealed that if things had worked out back then he would have made his debut in 2013. "My first audition was for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag," he revealed.
While he did not say which role he had auditioned for, Kaushal did reveal that he was rejected. Our guess is that it was a supporting part, as during his interaction with the Facebook page Humans of Bombay last year, he had revealed the same.
"My first one was horrifying. It was for a small role in a big film and I realized how far from everything I was. On my way home, I was like 'Vicky, ab toh toone job letter bhi phaad diya [You have even torn up your job letter]!' I was afraid, but I literally couldn't give up," said Kaushal, who had rejected a cushy job in the information technology sector after graduating in engineering.
Instead, he ended up doing a bit part in Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana (2012), in which Kunal Kapoor was the leading man and which was shot the same year.
Well, Kaushal has done really well for himself in a short time since his breakthrough performance in Masaan (2015). And 2018 and 2019 have been great years for him.
Since making his debut as leading man, he has received appreciation and success with Sanju (2018), Raazi (2018) and Manmarziyaan (2018), and his latest release, Uri: The Surgical Strike, has become a superhit at the box office.
Kaushal will next been seen in a Karan Johar-produced horror comedy with Bhumi Pednekar and in Johar's magnum opus directorial, Takht (2020).
