Singer-composer Tony Kakkar and Pakistani rapper Muffasir Sabir aka Young Desi had in 2018 come up with the fizzy 'Coca Cola' track. Composer Tanishk Bagchi has now recreated the song for the film Luka Chuppi, directed by Laxman Utekar.
Tony is aided by Mellow D for the lyrics, Young Desi does the rap and Neha Kakkar adds the fresh element to the song.
Except for the intro lyrics, Tony and Mellow D have penned new lines for the remake, but the essence remains the same.
A boy (Kartik Aaryan) is calling his beloved (Kriti Sanon) a bottle of Coca Cola and longs to be a bottle opener. The lyrics for the remake are mellow and don't have a strong appeal. It is more vibrant than the original, as Bagchi adds new techno beats. While it may not have the makings to be a party anthem, it has a vibe enough to make you groove. The remake composition outdoes the original.
Neha adds oomph to the lyrics through her unique voice, and easily becomes the better Kakkar in the song. Young Desi's rap lines are better than the original, and he excels in its delivery.
The choreography by Ruel Dausan Varindani is average, yet enjoyable. Aaryan and Sanon give their best to the song.
Luka Chuppi will be released on 1 March.
