Sridevi's last film Mom to be released in China on 22 March

The actress died in Dubai on 24 February 2018 due to accidental drowning.

The first Hindi film to release in China in 2019 will be the Sridevi-starrer Mom, directed by Ravi Udaywar. The revenge drama will be released in the Middle Kingdom on 22 March 2019 and will be presented by Zee Studios International.

Last year, 10 Hindi films made the elusive cut to be screened in the country. They include  Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Sultan (2016), Secret Superstar (2017), Hindi Medium (2017), Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017), Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017), Hichki (2017), 102 Not Out (2018), Pad Man (2018) and Thugs Of Hindostan (2018).

Mom was the final film of the acclaimed actress who died in Dubai on 24 February 2018 due to accidental drowning.

She played step-mother to Arya (Sajal Ali) who is brutally raped and left to die by her classmate. With the help of a detective (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer (Akshaye Khanna), the determined Devki (Sridevi) aims to bring justice for Arya.

The actress received the National Award for Best Actress posthumously for her performance last May. It is the only time she has won the prestigious acting honour.
