Producer Rajkumar Barjatya, father of director Sooraj Barjatya, died at the HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai.
The producer had been in ill health and suffering from a heart ailment. He had been admitted to the hospital on Tuesday. He died early on Thursday. The production house shared the news on Twitter.

The son of Tarachand Barjatya, Rajkumar Barjatya began his career as an associate producer on the Rajshri Production film, Piya Ka Ghar (1972). He teamed up with brother, Kamal Kumar Barjatya, to transform Rajshri into one of the premier production houses in India.
Films like Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), Hum Aapke Hain Kaun! (1994), Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999), Vivah (2006) and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015) were among the key films to his credit.
The producer is survived by his son, director Sooraj Barjatya.
