Ahaa Re song 'Icchera': Mixed emotions of Rituparna, Arifin and Amrita expressed well

The romantic number is written by Subhadeep Kantal and sung by Ishan Mitra.

Savvy Gupta is known for lending a catchy urbane flavour to his compositions and he has done the same with his song 'Icchera' from Ranjan Ghosh’s upcoming film Ahaa Re. The romantic number is written by Subhadeep Kantal and sung by Ishan Mitra.

The song states that the way to the beloved is the journey through the heart. The lover wants to unite with the beloved, but he is yet to know his destination and hence, he surrenders himself to his heart, so that it can guide him through.

The lover feels an intuitive connection with his beloved but is secretly aware of the fact that at the end of the day, destiny takes the decision. At the same time, he knows in his heart that once he reunites with his beloved, he will be in a land of pure bliss, where there will be no sorrow.

The visuals in the song, featuring protagonists Rituparna Sengupta, Arifin Shuvoo and Amrita Chattopadhyay, are in line with the story of the film. As Ghosh previously said, the film is more about the journey of discovering love through food of two cooks (Sengupta and Shuvoo) from different cultural and religious backgrounds than the love in itself. The lyrics of the song attest to that essence a great deal.

In the song, there are snippet views of interactions between the three characters, of mixed emotions rather than moments of union that show that the characters are entirely invested in their journeys led by their hearts.

Ahaa Re is slated for release on 22 February.
