Sai Tamhankar goes natural for iPhone film Pondicherry: Poster

Actress Sai Tamhankar kicked off the shooting for her next film, Pondicherry, opposite Vaibhav Tatwawaadi today. The makers announced the commencement of the start to finish schedule in Pondicherry by releasing the first poster of the film.  

The poster features Tamhankar and Tatwawaadi, and has an intriguing tagline — the story of a family living far away. The poster doesn't give away any other clues about its plot.  

What we do know is director Sachin Kundalkar is shooting the film on iPhone. The poster also features #smartphonefilm. 

"It is the first (Marathi) feature film shot entirely on iPhone," says Tamhankar, who was recently seen in the web series, Date With Sai. 

Pondicherry also stars Amruta Khanvilkar, Neena Kulkarni and Mahesh Manjrekar in key roles. 

Tamhankar will be seen a very basic realistic look in the film. 

"You'll see me in a very natural look in this film — no make-up and no hairstyle. I am already enjoying the process of making this film. I have this lovely feeling that you when you go to a workshop for the first time," said Tamhankar about starting work on the film.

The actress is also excited about attempting something different from what she has done so far in her career. 

"I think every actress should get to do a film where one is forced to get out of the comfort zone and do something different. So I am excited about the shooting of this film," she added. 

Kundalkar and Tamhankar have earlier worked together in Vazandar in 2016. 

Actors Tanmay Kulkarni, Bhupendra Singh Jadawat and Gaurav Ghatnekar are also part of the film's cast.
