Actress Darshana Banik is all set to make her debut in Tamil cinema with Ranjit Jeyakodi’s upcoming untitled film. She will be sharing the screen with co-star Bindu Madhavi. The film will be mostly shot in London, England and Ooty, Tamil Nadu. Currently, Banik is completing her schedules in the small hill station.
“I am extremely excited to work with Ranjit, who has previously worked with actors such as Vijay Sethupathi. The entire team is sorted, enthusiastic and extremely talented," the young actress told us via text. Banik made her debut in Telegu cinema with Murali Paruchali’s Aatagallu (2018).
Banik, who plays Lekha in the film, reportedly met Ranjit through her manager. She did a few rounds of auditions with the director and eventually got selected for the role. According to Banik, it is a women-centric film.
Her character Lekha has been brought up in London and is an extrovert with a modern outlook. The story is basically woven on her and her sister’s (Madhavi) characters, who land up in Ooty to sort out family property but unfortunately, they get into unforeseen circumstances.
Banik stated that shooting in the cold weather of Ooty has been quite a challenge for her. "The night shoots are a bit difficult; at the same time, we are enjoying every bit of it. Bindu Madhavi is very sweet and hardworking. We have jelled well from the first meeting," she said.
The actress confirmed that she will be shooting in Ooty till the end of the month.
