Dabangg 3 song ‘Naina Lade’: Sajid-Wajid’s romantic track serves an introduction to Saiee Manjrekar

Before Rajjo, there was Khushi. The newest song ‘Naina Lade’ from Dabangg 3 (2019) introduces us to Saiee Manjrekar's heroine. The debutante actress plays Chulbul Pandey’s first love and the song is a look back into his past.

While the visuals of the song are troubling as the much, much older Salman Khan (in his mid-50s) romances the 21-year-old newcomer, the composition itself is lovely. The Sajid-Wajid track is reminiscent of past love songs from the previous Dabangg films.

The lyrics by Danish Sabri are simple, speaking of the mood of first love, and singer Javed Ali renders the soulful number effectively. Manjrekar doesn’t get much to do in the song, except smile beatifically. Meanwhile, Khan’s Chulbul Pandey tries his best to get her attention and woo her.

This trip back into Pandey’s past is deemed an ‘innocent love story’ by the makers of the film, and apparently, we have Khushi to thank for the habit of tucking in his sunglasses into his back collar.
