Tanushree Dutta has filed a petition questioning the Mumbai police's filing of a 'B-Summary' report with the investigation of her complaint against actor Nana Patekar. The petition was filed at the metropolitan magistrate court in Andheri. The actress had filed a complaint against Patekar, and Ganesh Acharya and Samee Siddiqui back in October 2018. The police had filed a 'B-summary' in June earlier this year, citing lack of evidence to prosecute Patekar.

The Press Trust of India (PTI) reported that Dutta's lawyer, Nitin Satpute, has filed a protest petition before a metropolitan magistrate in Andheri. The petition demands that the court initiate contempt proceedings against the investigating officer for filing a 'false report'. The petition also reportedly demands a narco-analysis of the accused and the investigating officer.

Dutta has also requested the court to hand over the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Dutta's complaint against Patekar in 2018 had led to the launch of the #MeToo movement in India, leading to several cases of sexual assault and misbehaviour coming out in the open. Dutta's allegations have so far been dismissed by Patekar, who has also refused any statement in this regard.
