Rishi Kapoor is back with Sharmaji Namkeen with Juhi Chawla

Rishi Kapoor has been out of action since last year because of his long battle with cancer. The actor has recently recovered and he is now all set to return to acting.
Kapoor has been signed on to Sharmaji Namkeen (2020). The film will be produced under Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s banner Excel Entertainment in collaboration with Honey Trehan and Abhishek Chaubey’s banner MacGuffin Pictures and directed by first-time filmmaker Hitesh Bhatia.

The announcement was made by the veteran film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh on his official Twitter page. “IT'S OFFICIAL... Rishi Kapoor returns to films with Sharmaji Namkeen... Costars Juhi Chawla... Directed by Hitesh Bhatia... Produced by Excel Entertainment [Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar] in collaboration with MacGuffin Pictures [Honey Trehan and Abhishek Chaubey],” he said. [sic]

What’s more, Kapoor will be reuniting with his 1990s co-star Juhi Chawla. The two have shared the screen in a long list of movies including Chandni (1989), Bol Radha Bol (1992), Izzat Ki Roti (1993), Ghar Ki Izzat (1994), Saajan Ka Ghar (1994), Eena Meena Deeka (1994), Daraar (1996) and Karobaar: The Business Of Love (2000).
Kapoor was last seen on the big screen in the comedy Jhootha Kahin Ka (2019) which he shot before he went to New York for his treatment.
