Fans of the 2000s decade have quite a lot to celebrate with retro-remixes these days. The latest song from Good Newwz is yet another remix from the heydays of Indian pop songs. 'Sauda Khara Khara' features the original singer, Sukhbir, joining Diljit Dosanjh and Dhvani Bhanushali as they voice out the celebrations for the trio of Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh, and Kiara Advani on the screen.
The song is a remake of the Sukhbir hit of the same name, and certainly has the vibe to go with it. Set as a wedding celebration, the song even has the now famous 'Naagin' dance to add yet another boost of pop culture. Led by Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani, the choreography certainly has more naturalness to its movements. But the true punch in the song really lands when Sukhbir shows up on the screen. The singer has a mass following, and continues to enjoy popularity among fans.
The composition by Lijo, DJ Chetas, and Sukhbir builds on a good rhythm and kicks it up on the hook line perfectly. Unlike other remixes, Lijo and DJ Chetas slow down the pace of the song at the start, giving the very Punjabi 'tappa' style an authenticity. The song then takes off with additional orchestration before the hookline by Sukhbir kicks in.
The composition is certainly one of the rare remixes that leave you surprised, with its use of just the signature line while avoiding the rest of the composition. To be fair, Sukhbir's original work would not have fit in to the new theme. Kumaar's lyrics swap the original theme of fidelity in love to something more playful and fun.
Diljit Dosanjh brings in his own style and easy-going voice to the composition, while Dhvani Bhanushali adds her sass to the lyrics. Both singers compete well with each other, and leave Sukhbir to do what he does best.
Good Newwz is directed by Raj Mehta, and is set to release in theatres on 27 December 2019.
