Manoj Bajpayee, Diljit Dosanjh, Fatima Sana Shaikh to star in the family comedy Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari

Zee Studios’ next production, a family comedy is assembling with Manoj Bajpayee, Diljit Dosanjh and Fatima Sana Shaikh. Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film will begin filming on 6 January 2020.

With a title like Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, it suggests that the film could have something to do with astrology.

The stars of the film announced the comedy with a photo with their director. The cast has never worked with each other before.

Sharma told the newspaper Hindustan Times, “Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari is a unique family comedy that draws humour from the quirks of its refreshing yet relatable characters. The world is set in the innocence of 1990s when they was no social media or mobile phones.”

“With awesome actors like Diljit, Manoj, Fatima, and a fantastic ensemble cast, I am sure we will be able to create an entertaining narrative for our family audience. I am proud and excited to be associated with Zee Studios’ first in-house production. It’s a start-to-finish schedule; we start shooting on 6 January till mid-March and release it before year-end,” he shared.

Sharma recently directed The Zoya Factor (2019) with Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Dulquer Salmaan. The rom-com, however, failed at the box office.
