No one will leave this country: Raftaar stands up for anti-CAA protests at Bollywood Music Project performance

At a time when several composers and singers are consciously staying away from ongoing anti-Citizenship Amendment Act/National Registry of Citizens (CAA/NRC) protests across the country, singer Raftaar offered a very vocal backing to the protests from the stage of the recently concluded Bollywood  Music Project 5.0. The singer-rapper took to stage to declare "You can’t ask me my religion when I come on stage to perform." 

The singer went on to add, "Today I am being asked my religion to stay in this country. Everyone is like my brother and sister. And I am standing by them. No one will leave this country. Yeh desh kisi ke baap ka nahi hai. We are one and here to enjoy so let’s begin the party."

The singer made the declaration right before he began his performance, leading to a deafening cheer from the gathered audience. The singer performed some of his most popular numbers including 'Bandook Meri Laila' from A Gentleman (2017), 'Aisi Dhaakad Hai' from Dangal (2016) among others. 

Ther singer was joined by several prominent performers including Sunidhi Chauhan, B Praak, Shalmalii, DIVINE, Vishal Bhardwaj, Divya Kumar, Ram Sampath, Neha Bhasin among others at the two-day-long music festival. The event also saw a surprise performance from Arijit Singh, who performed alongside Bhardwaj on day one of the music festival. Divya Kumar also shone on the second day of the festival.
