Amitabh Bachchan announced he will be unable to attend the National awards ceremony in Delhi today as he is down with fever. The veteran actor announced on Twitter that he was advised not to travel due to his ill health.

The actor was due to be honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award at the ceremony along with other film industry honorees.

Bachchan recently wrapped filming on his next film, Chehre (2020), with Emraan Hashmi, in freezing cold Slovakia. In October, the 77-year-old actor was admitted to Nanavati Hospital for a routine checkup.

The Dadasaheb Phalke honoree attended the opening ceremony of this year’s golden jubilee edition of the International Film Festival of India in Goa earlier this year.
