Jaaved Jaaferi comes on board for Varun Dhawan-Sara Ali Khan's Coolie No 1

Jaaved Jaaferi, known for his comic timing, is the latest actor to join the cast of David Dhawan’s Coolie No. 1. The film is the remake of the 1995 Govinda and Karisma Kapoor-starrer of the same name, also by David Dhawan. The new version of the film features Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan. 

Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Films made the announcement on Twitter saying, “He has always tickled our funny bones with his perfect comic timing! It's time to welcome a new member, @jaavedjaaferi to the #CoolieNo1 family! #1May2020.” Incidentally, Pooja Films had also produced the original Coolie No 1. 

Jaaferi replied to the tweet, saying, “So so so enjoying working with this fabulous team. This is going to be a riot.” 

The actor has been seen in four films this year – De De Pyaar De, Total Dhamaal, Jabariya Jodi and Bala. 

Earlier this year, actress Shikha Talsania had joined the cast of the film. This is her next film after the successful Veere Di Wedding (2018), which also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor and Swara Bhasker. Interestingly, Shikha’s father and veteran actor Tiku Talsania starred in the original film where he played a police inspector. 

Coolie No. 1 will be released on 1 May 2020.
