John Abraham is set for yet another Independence Day weekend release with Lakshya Raj Anand's upcoming Attack. The film will feature John, alongside Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead role. The film, produced by Pen Studios, JA Entertainment, and Ajay Kapoor, will release in theatres on 14 August 2020.

This will be John Abraham's third consecutive Independence Day release after Satyameva Jayate (2018), and Batla House (2019). The film will also mark the debut of director Lakshya Raj Anand, who has also written the film.

Speaking of the film, John Abraham said, "Attack is a taut, interesting thriller with a strong storyline and a genre that I love! That it is releasing on Independence Day makes it even more exciting. At JA Entertainment, it is our endeavour to push the envelope and produce films that entertain and have something significant to show to the increasingly discerning audience. With Jayanti bhai on board, we are certain that the film will get an excellent release. Also, happy to collaborate with Ajay once again."

The film will see the actor play a lone ranger who is in a race against time as he takes on a rescue mission. According to a statement from the makers of the film, it is a fictional tale, but is based on 'true events' about a hostage crisis.

The film is scheduled for theatrical release on 14 August 2020.
