The first teaser of Kabir Khan's upcoming Amazon Prime web-series, The Forgotten Army: Azaadi Ke Liye, gives us a tease of how it will trace the journey of the formation and initial struggles of Subhash Chandra Bose's famed Indian National Army. The series also features Sunny Kaushal and Sharvari Wagh in the lead roles.

The teaser begins with the sight of Indian soldiers fighting across the globe for World War II. As Sunny Kaushal is playing cricket with his battalion deep in a jungle, they are attacked by a troop of Japanese soldiers on cycles. This sets up the tone for the stage of World War II to explode on screen. It was through these Japanese prisoners of war, abandoned by the British Empire, that the Indian National Army was formed.

The shots of the war are impressive, with Khan having already tackled a similar theme in Tubelight (2017). However, the teaser also offers a glimpse into some goosebump moments with the call for 'Chalo Dilli', a war cry during the Independence era. New entrants, Sunny Kaushal and Sharvari Wagh make an appearance as the two protagonists caught in this fierce struggle for independence by a military force.

The web-series is backed by Amazon Prime Video, and will stream on Republic Day, 26 January 2020.
