Abhimanyu Dassani’s Nikamma to be released on 5 June 2020

Abhimanyu Dassani received a lot of acclaim for his role in his debut film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota (2019), which was released earlier this year. Now, the release date of his second film Nikamma (2020) is out. The film will hit the screens on 5 June 2020. 

The news was shared by Dassani on Twitter. He wrote, “5 June 2020 in theatres near you! Aapka Nikamma tayyar hai to pack some punches with his heroine!” 

Directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sony Pictures India, the film will see the launch of singer Shirley Setia, whose music channel is quite popular on YouTube. Dassani also shared the first look from the movie, which features him and Setia sitting on the floor of the Lucknow metro. 

Nikamma will also see the comeback of Shilpa Shetty into Hindi cinema. She was last seen in a song in the film Dishkiyaoon (2014), which she had herself produced. Before that she had done another 'item' song in Dostana (2008).

Shetty's last Hindi film as an actress was Anil Sharma’s Apne (2007), which starred Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.

Speaking about her comeback earlier this year, Shilpa Shetty told the Indian Express newspaper, "It feels great. I am ready to take that plunge again and looking forward to be back on the big screen. It’s a refreshingly unique project and am looking forward to working with Sabbir."
