An edge of the seat murder mystery starring the very talented @taapsee and @masseysahib. Directed by @vinilmathew & written by @kanikadhillon! Music by @itsAmitTrivedi! Hits the theatres on 18 Sept 2020!@aanandlrai #HimanshuSharma pic.twitter.com/EDuiWGnyFs
"Haseen Dillruba is a murder mystery within a twisted love story, a genre we have not explored before. Really looking forward to entertain and engage the audience with this edgy script," Rai said in a statement. He has also produced Manmarziyaan (2018) which was directed by Anurag Kashyap.
Along with the announcement, a poster of Haseen Dillruba show a woman standing in a pool of blood, with a large knife and a Hindi novel Vahshi strewn about the floor. She has lifted her sari, so as to not get the bloodstains on them.
It's unclear if this is Pannu's character. She shared a quote about her character stating, "I may be (sic) bad but I'm perfectly good at it," indicating that like Andhadhun (2018) this one will feature a lead character with several grey shades.
