Watch: Vidya Balan reveals Shakuntala Devi biopic release date

Shakuntala Devi: Human Computer (2020) finally has a release date. The Anu Menon film, starring Vidya Balan and Sanya Malhotra, is due to be released on 8 May 2020. Vidya, who plays the genius mathematician, made the announcement in an innovative way, reminiscent of the character she essays.

She first stated that the movie was only 148 days away. Later, she turned the announcement into an equation to be solved, albeit with emojis. The film arrives next summer.

The biopic also stars actors Jisshu Sengupta and Amit Sadh. Sengupta plays Shakuntala's husband Paritosh Banerjee, while Sadh plays her son-in-law Ajay.

Produced by Sony Pictures and Vikram Malhotra's Abundantia Entertainment, the film has been written by Menon and Nayanika Mahtani. Ishita Moitra has written the dialogues.
