After searching for a bride in Ujda Chaman (2019), actor Sunny Singh is on his way to the altar in the upcoming Jai Mummy Di (2020). That is, if his on-screen mother Supriya Pathak will let him.
The veteran actress and Poonam Dhillon face off to protect their children in the first poster of the family comedy. Actress Sonnali Seygall plays the bride-to-be in the Navjot Gulati film.
Sunny Singh, who also made a cameo appearance in last's week Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019) starring Kartik Aaryan, shared the first poster on Instagram. "Maa ka pyaar ya pyaar ki maa ki aankh!" he pondered.
Gulati makes his directorial debut with the feature film. He previously wrote the dialogues for Running Shaadi (2017) and the screenplay of the upcoming films Ginny Weds Sunny (2020) and Dostana 2 (2020).
Earlier this year, Gulati directed the short film Jai Mata Di, on Mother's Day, about a couple who pretend to be brother and sister to get a flat in Mumbai. The short starred Supriya Pilgaokar, Shiv Pandit and Shriya Pilgaonkar.
Sunny Singh and Sonnalli Seygall have previously worked in Luv Ranjan's Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (2015). It seems like the romance and wedding will see some obstacles in the form of their mothers played by Supriya Pathak and Poonam Dhillon, respectively.
Jai Mummy Di, presented by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-Series and produced by Luv Ranjan of Luv Films and Ankur Garg, is due to be released on 17 January 2020. The film's trailer is expected to be released tomorrow.
