Ranveer Singh in talks to play comic book superhero, Nagraj


A recent report quotes president and publisher of Raj Comics, Manoj Gupta, confirming talks with the actor.

With Ranbir Kapoor set to play his first superhero, Ranveer Singh cannot be far behind. Reports suggest that the actor has been in talks with Raj Comics, to play the comic book superhero, Nagraj. Manoj Gupta, president of Raj Comics, confirmed the news in a recent report. 

The Press Trust of India (PTI) quoted Gupta as saying, "We are in talks with Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar for a live-action silver-screen adaptation of Nagraj. While nothing is inked so far, things are looking positive." 

Nagraj was created in the late 1980s with illustrations by Pratap Mullick, and story by Manoj Gupta, Raj Kumar Gupta, and Sanjay Gupta. The series went on to become one of the most popular Indian comic books in the decades to come. 

Singh is currently preparing for the release of several projects including Kabir Khan's '83 (2020), Divyang Thakkar's Jayeshbhai Jordaar (2020), as well as having Karan Johar's Takht (2020) in the pipeline. 

The PTI report also quoted Gupta saying that the project is in its initial stage of development, and is being targeted for 2022 release.
