It's a wrap for Tribhanga, starring Kajol and Mithila Palkar

Filming for Renuka Shahane's second film as director has been completed. The Netflix project, co-produced by Siddharth P Malhotra's Alchemy Films Pvt Ltd along with Ajay Devgn Films and Banijay Asia, stars Kajol, Mithila Palkar, Tanvi Azmi, Kunal Roy Kapur and Vaibhav Tatwawaadi.

The film is the complex story of three incredible women, played by Kajol, Azmi and Palkar, from three different generations but belonging to the same family.

Malhotra shared a few photographs from the last day's shooting on Instagram and wrote, "My dearest Renuka Shahane, it’s been a true honour and pleasure sharing this wonderful dream of yours and making it a reality. Today as we wrap the shoot of Tribhanga I can’t help but look back at the journey of getting this film made which only you and me know. Thank you for your faith and patience in me and letting me and Sapna Malhotra as Alchemy Films Pvt Ltd tell your story as the first film under our banner as producers."

Malhotra then turned his attention to Kajol, whom he had directed in his first film, We Are Family (2010). "It’s been magical watching this mad hatter who is all heart, soul and actually adjectives fall short to describe the brilliance she brings alive on celluloid," he wrote.

"I still remember the first narration by Renuka Shahane, my outstanding writer/director-sister. I could only see Kajol playing it and we both thank god that she agreed to make that character come alive like no one would or could. It’s truly a privilege watching her perform on set."

The family drama is expected to be streamed online on Netflix sometime next year.
