Good Newwz song 'Maana Dil': B Praak's soulful voice brings this emotional conflict to the right peak point

Composed by Tanishk Bagchi, the song is sung by B Praak who captures the evocative lyrics of Rashmi - Virag, lending them further depth and feeling.

Taking a break from his usual retinue of remixes, Tanishk Bagchi sends out a reminder why he remains a very popular composer. 'Maana Dil' from Good Newwz captures the emotional pitch of the conflict emerging from the two fathers and their own flaws in B Praak's fabulous voice. The lyrics by Rashmi - Virag add to the poignancy of the moment.

The song begins at the moment of admission by Akshay Kumar and Diljit Dosanjh's characters about accepting the child growing in their wive's wombs. The mothers, unwilling to let go of the child, find it heartbreaking. This sets up the emotional high that the film is leading up to. While it feels like the makers are giving away the climax a little too soon, the song by Bagchi proves to be redeeming.

B Praak might be a fantastic composer, but his voice is very underrated. The tenor and depth through which he sings 'Maana Dil' is wonderful. The singer captures the evocative lyrics of Rashmi - Virag, lending them further depth and feeling. Bagchi underlines this emotion with a poignant melody that is built on solo violins and underlying guitar rhythm. This makes it one for repeat listening.

Good Newwz is directed by Raj Mehta, and is set to release in theatres on 27 December. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
