Dhaakad teaser: Kangana Ranaut goes all guns blazing in a no holds barred manner

Last month, it was announced that Kangana Ranaut signed a film titled Dhaakad (2020). The makers are already out with the film’s first teaser. Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai, the film is produced by Sohel Maklai Productions and Asylum Films. 

The film sees Kangana in an out and out action avatar. The era of female centric films emerged at the start of this decade with The Dirty Picture (2011) and has continued till this year with Ranaut's own Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019).

But Hindi cinema has hardly had an out and out action saga featuring a female lead save a film like Akira (2016) starring Sonakshi Sinha. Dhaakad seems to be filling that void. 

The teaser of the film makes it ample clear that the film is a bloody action saga with a determined Kangana going all guns blazing as Agent Agni. The actress fits the bill for a female action star despite the slightly forced heroic walk here. The way she makes the tongue gesture and looks at the camera in the end give you a jolt, not in a bad way. 

The production design and the manner of presentation look impressive, at least going by the teaser. 

Dhaakad will be releasing on Diwali 2020. Hence, the film will be clashing with a biggie like Karan Johar’s Takht which has an ensemble cast of Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.
