The shoot schedule for Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan's new-age Coolie No 1 has kicked off in Thailand. The confirmation arrived through two videos shared by both lead actor Varun Dhawan, and co-writer Farhad Samji, from the shoot destination of Bangkok. Directed by David Dhawan, the film is a remake of his 1995 hit of the same name featuring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor.

Varun Dhawan shared a funny video on his social media page, describing him undergoing a shave to get into the look of the lead character Raju. While it is not known if the film will follow the same plot line of the 1995 Govinda-starrer, or upgrade it, Varun seemed enthused about it.

Dhawan was not alone, as co-writers (and brothers) Sajid-Farhad put up a post wearing the now familar Coolie No 1 badge, announcing the beginning of the shoot schedule.

Dhawan has recently wrapped up the shoot for Remo D'Souza's Street Dancer 3 (2020), while Sara Ali Khan has finished filming for Imtiaz Ali's untitled production with Kartik Aaryan, also due for release in 2020.

The Coolie No 1 remake is expected to release on 1 May 2020.
