Kirti Kulhari joins Parineeti Chopra for the remake of The Girl On The Train

Parineeti Chopra kicked off the shoot on the official Hindi remake of the Hollywood hit The Girl On The Train (2016), which is directed by Ribhu Dasgupta.

Now, news is that Kirti Kulhari has joined the cast in the role of a British cop. Kulhari is also a part of Dagupta’s Netflix web-series Bard Of Blood, which is produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. Actress Aditi Roy Hydari is also part of the cast in a pivotal role.

Speaking about her character, Kulhari told the tabloid Mumbai Mirror, “It’s an interesting character with a unique look, something that I don’t think anyone has sported in Bollywood [Hindi cinema] before.” 

She also shared her preparation regime for the film. “The training will give me the body language of the cop. We had toyed with the idea of a British accent but then Ribhu thought it would divert the focus from my performance. Instead I am watching documentaries and murder mysteries to understand the job profile and working style of an investigative officer in the UK,” she said. 

Kulhari is happy to work with Dasgupta again and to star in another female centric film. “It’s a great feeling being directed by Ribhu Dasgupta and it’s my second outing with him after Bard of Blood. We share a great equation and I am looking forward to collaborating on this one now. It is my fourth project with an all female ensemble cast after Pink (2016), [the web-series] Four More Shots Please and Mission Mangal (2019) and I am really enjoying being in this space,” she told The Indian Express.com. 

Directed by Tate Taylor, The Girl On The Train was a thriller starring Emily Blunt and Haley Bennett and based on Paula Hawkins's 2015 best-selling novel of the same name.
