The Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Khandaani Shafakhana (2019) has had a poor first weekend at the Indian box office. After opening at a number as low as Rs75 lakh on Friday, the film didn’t show any sort of a substantial growth in the next two days.
The first weekend numbers of Shilpi Dasgupta's directorial debut stand at a mere Rs2.85 crore, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
As per trade sources, Khandaani Shafakhana is made at a cost of Rs20 to Rs25 crore. With an overall total as low as it is, the film virtually stands no chance at the box office.
The Hollywood action film, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, has registered great numbers in its first weekend in India by amassing Rs37 crore. The franchise has had a good fan following in India and these numbers are further proof of its popularity.
Meanwhile, the Hrithik Roshan-starrer Super 30 (2019) has had a good fourth weekend as well. Against a budget of around Rs65 crore, the film has so far earned an impressive Rs137.14 crore.
The Hollywood animation film The Lion King (2019), also had a positive third weekend of Rs11.50 crore. The film has so far made Rs137.03 crore in the country.
