Actress Shabana Azmi has joined the cast of Steven Spielberg's much awaited series, Halo, based on the video game of the same name. The actress will be part of the series, produced by Amblin Entertainment. Directed by Otto Brathurst, the series will be based around the plot of the popular video game franchise, Halo.
The actress joins Bentley Kalu, Natasha Culzac, Kate Kennedy, Natascha McElhone, Bokeem Woodbine on the series produced by Steven Spielberg's home production. Azmi will play the role of Admiral Margaret Parangosky, head of the naval intelligence.
Variety.com reported that the show will introduce three all new characters to the Halo universe, all supersoliders, played by Kalu, Culzac, and Kennedy.
Azmi's casting joins the latest list of Indian actors included in international series after Dimple Kapadia joining Christopher Nolan's upcoming, Tenet (2020).
Azmi has previously been a part of international films like Madame Sousatzka (1988), The Bengali Night (1988), and City of Joy (1992).
The series will begin filming in Budapest by the end of this year and is expected to air in early 2021 on Showtime.
