Director Arjunn Dutta is all geared up to make a women-centric film as his next project, featuring Swastika Mukherjee, Arpita Pal Chatterjee and Debjani Chatterjee in the lead. Dutta’s debut film Abyakto (2019) won critical acclaim and was screened in various film festivals in and outside the country.
According to a report in the newspaper The Telegraph, the film traces the journey of three characters, Sreerupa, Renu and Dolly through an intertwined narrative. Their continuous struggles, pain and joy form the crux of the story. The director has sketched the characters and their stories with layers and lots of sensitivity.
Dutta stated that, “The beauty lies in their vulnerability and that there is always hope. This is my second film after Abyakto and this too focuses on relationships.”
Having been endowed with positive feedback for Abyakto, Dutta is hopeful that his next film will also win the hearts of audience. “I have given my hundred percent to the script and I hope I will be able to give something meaningful to the audience," the director added.
The film, yet untitled, is going to be Dutta’s second project with Arpita Chatterjee after Abyakto. Furthermore, Dutta will be bringing Arpita and Swastika together in a film for the first time. On the other hand, he said that Debjani is his Lady Luck as she featured in his first ever project, the short film titled The 6th Element (2016).
Dutta is also thrilled with the prospective of working with Mukherjee, who happens to be one of his favourite actresses. The film is supposed to go on the floor from September.
