Last year, director Bhaurao Nanasaheb Karhade’s Marathi movie Baban became a surprise hit. The film’s lead artistes Bhausaheb Shinde and Gayatri Jadhav, too, received much acclaim. Now, they are returning as the lead pair in a Marathi movie titled Rajkumar.
The film's makers said Shinde and Jadhav will be seen in a different avatar this time. But the subject of the film and the plotline are being kept under wraps.
Artistes from two other well-known films have also been cast in the movie. Last year, child actor Shrinivas Pokale won many a heart with his performance in the Marathi movie Naal (2018). Rajkumar is his next film.
The film also stars Archana Jois who played the mother of the younger version of Yash’s character Rocky in the Kannada blockbuster KGF: Chapter 1 (2018).
Rajkumar marks the directorial debut of Samarth Raj Ediga. The film also stars some popular artistes like Pravin Vitthal Tarde and Devika Daftardar. The latter played Pokale's character's mother in Naal.
Baban was the story of a young woman (Jadhav) from a well-to-do family and a young man (Shinde) from a lower class. The economic gulf between them proves to be a major obstacle in their path.
