Saaho song 'Baby Won't You Tell Me So': Alyssa Mendonsa, Ravi Mishra sprinkle magic in this romantic duet

While Prabhas's upcoming Saaho (2019) might be a high-octane action-packed spy thriller, the music album seems to be filled with romantic duets that focus on the chemistry between the leads Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor. The latest addition to the album is 'Baby Won't You Tell Me So', composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and sung by Alyssa Mendonsa and Ravi Mishra. 

The song has a wonderful melody, that is a hallmark of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's compositions. While it is a step away from the usual Punjabi rhythms that the trio is best known for, it is a refreshing turn of pace.

The electronic dance music style of the composition plays well with the voices of Alyssa Mendonsa and Ravi Mishra. Mendonsa adds a soothing turn to the lyrics as she voices Shraddha Kapoor's awestruck romantic lead. Ravi Mishra too brings in a soft touch with his voice, that plays well with the melody. 

The composition is a wonderful, slow touch from Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy who play out the romantic drama unfolding visually through the music. The lyrics by Manoj Yadav play on the usual metaphors, but that is nothing to complain of. 

The visuals capture a dreamlike state for the two protagonists, with dates on flamingo-filled lakes, snow capped peaks, and a Burning Man-style music festival added in.

While Shraddha Kapoor looks pretty and brings on the charm, Prabhas still manages an expressionless face throughout the song. The actor seems to be on the wrong side of cool, as his staid expressions are failing to impress. 

Saaho, directed by Sujeeth, and is due to be released in theatres on 30 August.
