With its theme of friendship, supported by a talented cast, Nitesh Tiwari's Chhichhore (2019) promises some fun. The new trailer builds on the theme, with Sushant Singh Rajput's Aniruddh and Varun Sharma's 'Sexa' building a bond of friendship through cuss words, blue films, and pranks galore.
The trailer begins with the familiar voiceover in the style of the legendary radio announcer, Ameen Sayani. While it is not Sayani's voice, the style brings a nostalgic touch to the video.
With the usual events of young boys gathering to watch porn, or pulling pranks, and ragging each other, the visual skips to the future. As Sushant Singh Rajput's Anni calls his friend, played by Varun Sharma, the long lost brats return. The sight of Sharma's middle-aged executive, launching into a foul-mouthed welcome while foreigners watch astounded, makes for some hilarity.
While the new trailer is not very different from the earlier one, it does capture the theme of friendships and the deep bonds cemented by the boys in the hostel life. Navin Polishetty, Varun Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput put on the act well.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Chhichhore is set to release on 6 September.
